What is LNA/Join LNA
|
What is the LNA? The LNA serves as a liaison between the neighbors and Lasell College, meeting with College officials and relevant City periodically and as concerns arise. The LNA is a non-profit, charitable organization with a current membership of approximately 350. A 20 member Council governs the LNA. The LNA was successful in supporting the formation of the Auburndale Historic District Commission in 2005. This was the culmination of 5 years of intense work and commitment by many dedicated neighbors and supporters of historic preservation. Each year, the LNA organizes a Progressive Dinner held the first Saturday of May. Typically, over 150 attend this event in which neighbors gather in each other’s homes for appetizers, moving on to other homes for dinner with a new group, and finally coming together at one house for dessert. The LNA hosts a Candidates’ Night prior to each local election giving neighbors the opportunity to meet candidates and the candidates the opportunity to be informed about issues of importance to this neighborhood. Our Annual Meeting is held in early June. Periodic newsletters and informational emails go out to members to keep them abreast of new developments and upcoming events. The bulk LNA’s annual income is derived from membership
dues, currently $25 per year for individuals and $40 for families. Most
of the LNA’s remaining
income is from special events held throughout the year. |
